Scouts aren’t sure Trevone Boykin ability to transition to NFL

TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin is undoubtedly an incredibly talented signal-caller at the college level, but there are reportedly some doubts about his ability to transition to the NFL.

According to NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein, there are some NFL scouts that “aren’t yet sold” on the redshirt senior’s “ability to transition from the TCU system into an NFL offense.”

Boykin showed great improvement from 2013 to 2014, so it will be crucial to see him continue that development into his redshirt season. There are also some concerns about Boykin’s height — which is listed at 6-foot-2 — with the scouts believing he is closer to six-feet tall.

It will be interesting to see if Boykin is able to keep that high level of play in this season and the comfortable feel inside the pocket, because that will go a long way in proving to the scouts that he has the awareness he needs.

Do you think Boykin can succeed at the next level? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts and predictions.
