Nuggets select Emmanuel Mudiay with No. 7 pick

The Denver Nuggets’ pick is in. With the No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Denver has added Emmanuel Mudiay, who initially committed to play for the SMU Mustangs but eventually ended up with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Mudiay averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

There was some discussion about the Nuggets trading the pick, but they ultimately decided Mudiay was the way to go.

Mudiay was the top recruit in the Class of 2014 — which also included top five picks Jahlil Okafor and D’Angelo Russell. Mudiay will not try to prove on the court that the high school recruiting analysts were correct.
