Class of 2016 defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, out of Wenonah High School in Birmingham, Alabama, has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Andrew Bone of Rivals.com reported Williams’ decision. Williams also made an announcement on his personal Twitter page.
Of great size for his position at 6-foot-4, 265 pounds, Williams is ranked the No. 22 defensive tackle in his class by 247 Sports. The former Auburn commit had also received offers from Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
Williams’ commitment to the Crimson Tide gives the program 17 commitments for the Class of 2016. This means that head coach Nick Saban will once again likely have a bone-crushing defense that has made Alabama a household name under his watch. Since he took over in 2007, the team has gone 86-17 (50-11 SEC) with three national championships. With Williams now aboard, the team can hopefully add another.
Alabama opens the 2015 season against the Big Ten’s Wisconsin Badgers on September 5 in a game set to be played at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
