Former Bama DT charged in home invasion

When things go wrong, they really seem to go wrong for former Alabama defensive tackle Brandon Ivory. Tuscaloosa police say that Ivory was arrested early Wednesday morning in suspicion of a home invasion.

According to AL.com, Ivory and Nicolas Gerald Gibson III were arrested after the two broke into a home in Tuscaloosa while two residents were in the home. The two kicked in the back door and robbed the residents of money and electronics.

The police believe that one of the two men were armed at the time of the home invasion.

“One suspect was armed with an assault rifle and the other suspect was armed with a knife,” Sgt. Brent Blankley said.

Ivory joined the Crimson Tide as a redshirt freshman in 2010 and started every game in 2013 during the team’s national championship run. He then signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in May of this year.

The Crimson Tide open the season on September 5 against the Wisconsin Badgers in Arlington, Texas.
