Tennessee five-star DT Khalil McKenzie visits hospitalized fan

When any upperclassman steps up, it’s considered professionalism. But when a freshman steps up? Class.

Yesterday, Tennessee Volunteers fan, Asa, driving on his way to Knoxville, Tenn., to purchase one of the new Nike Vols jerseys, got into a serious car accident after having a seizure.

The crash resulted in him sustaining multiple injuries including a C1 spinal cord injury as well as a broken jaw.

After the crash, Asa’s family reached out to the freshman five star defensive tackle, Khalil McKenzie, and asked him if he could stop by. McKenzie didn’t hesitate. Like on the field, they asked and he delivered. He visited Asa in the hospital and posted this heartfelt message on Instagram.

As you can see by the look on Asa’s face, he may be hurt, but his Vols spirit is still there!

So, get well, Asa, we’ll be sending you our prayers from over from here!
