LSU mascot Mike the Tiger gets special 4th of July meal

If you’re an LSU fan, you know who Mike the Tiger is. Hell, if you’re a college football fan, you know who he is. The school’s mascot has become a social media sensation over the past year, with the meat he receives on a daily basis often having a special theme, usually in the shape of the logo of whoever the football team plays on any given week.

On this 4th of July, however, Mike’s handlers gave the meat a theme despite it still being the offseason. As seen on Instagram, everyone’s favorite giant feline received his meal with a holiday twist.

Now, granted, being a tiger, Mike probably has other things on his mind than our nation’s birthday, like lounging in the sun, chasing his tail, sleeping 18 hours a day and other tiger-related activities. He also probably doesn’t care that his food sometimes comes in wacky shapes, so long as it’s still edible.

But it’s still nice to see that the LSU mascot’s handlers are in a celebratory mood and cared enough to get him involved, and hopefully they’ll be enjoying some grilled meat of their own over the course of the day.

Happy 4th of July, everyone!
