Top 5 recruits Dannis Smith Jr, Michael Porter play 1-on-1

Point guard Dennis Smith Jr. from Trinity Christian school in Fayetteville, NC and small forward Michael Porter Jr. from Father Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, MO were both present at the Steph Curry SC 30 camp last week.

At some point during the camp, the two top five recruits — 2016’s top point guard and 2017’s top wing respectively — faced off in an intense game of one-on-one.

The 6-foot-1 point guard started off strong against the -foot-forward, but towards the middle, Porter’s height advantage showed through, as his jump short height seemed to be too much for Smith.

However, Smith saw a late game surge, as he began to utilize his natural quickness, and finished strong at the basket with both hands. Both of these players are undeclared, but have a plethora of offers from top tier programs, Duke, North Carolina and Kansas to name a few.

If this one-on-one action carries over into full court play, I can’t wait to see these two go at it on the big stage.
