Notre Dame is not considered by many of the experts to make the college football playoff this year, but that doesn’t mean the team doesn’t believe they can. The Fighting Irish received their new, Wilson Brand college footballs yesterday with a little something extra on them: the CFB playoff logo.

The saying goes you have to visualize your target and that’s exactly the type of message head coach Brian Kelly is trying to get across.
Notre dame has a total of 19 starters returning from last years team that finished with a record of 8-5. They boast one of the better offensive lines and have a ton of talent at receiver. On the defensive side is where they need to improve the most. Last year, the Irish ranked 71st overall in total team defense.
Of course the biggest question mark is at quarterback. With Everett Golson transferring, it now has become the Malik Zaire era. Zaire performed well last season splitting time with Golson, but it will be interesting to see how he handles full responsibility of the position.
Notre Dame starts their playoff journey on September 5th against Texas.
