4-star QB Jawon Pass commits to Louisville

Class of 2016 four-star quarterback Jawon Pass, out of Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia, has committed to Louisville. Bleacher Report’s Damon Sayles reported Pass’s decision.

Pass joins a Cardinals team where his brother, Khane, plays as a safety. He had also drawn interest from Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Oregon, among many others.

Once he graduates in 2016, he’ll be set to join a Cardinals team that will need some help under center, as incumbent QB Will Gardner will be a rising senior in 2016 and someone will need to be groomed as his successor. With a solid quarterback’s build at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Pass could very well be that man.

247 Sports’ Ryan Bartow called Pass’ decision a “no-brainer,” as his brother plays there, so fans should get excited at the prospect of having the young dual-threat quarterback on the team next season.

Louisville opens the 2015 season on the road against Auburn, in a game set to be played at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome.
