Class of 2016 four-star offensive lineman Chandler Tuitt, out of Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia, near Atlanta, has committed to the Ole Miss Rebels. Tuitt announced his decision on his personal Twitter page, which was subsequently reported by 247 Sports’ David Johnson.
Tuitt offered a brief statement on his decision to 247 Sports as well.
“It was the family atmosphere…it’s crazy at Ole Miss,” Tuitt said of his decision. “I could always tell very easily how much they care about their players. I can honestly say they care more about their players than any other school. It extends to the fans, too. More than half of my Twitter followers are from Ole Miss.”
Tuitt had also received offers from UNC, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Georgia and South Carolina. He will now join a Rebels team that made headlines when it defeated the ever-dangerous Alabama Crimson Tide last season, and is in a position to potentially make a grand statement in the SEC this season.
Ole Miss opens 2015 at home against the OVC’s Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks on September 5.
