Four-star point guard Tony Carr is narrowing his list of potential landing spots for 2016, and the Philadelphia, PA native is apparently interested in staying close to home. At least, one could certainly draw that conclusion from the locations of four of the five schools on his list.
According to a report on the website cityofbasketballlove.com by Josh Verlin, Carr has trimmed his list from 11 to five, and the finalists include Temple, Penn State, Maryland, Providence and the lone entry from outside the northeast, SMU.
The 6’5″ Carr, who is listed at no. 53 overall by Rivals.com, is also apparently interested in playing with his Nike EYBL teammate and best friend, forward Lamar Stevens. While that plan may or may not come to fruition, it is a possibility since Providence is the only school on Carr’s list that hasn’t offered both players a scholarship.
Whether Carr and Stevens get to play together in college or not, they will spend their senior year of high school ball together as Stevens is transferring to Philly’s Roman Catholic High School in order to join Carr for their final high school campaign. The two would make an excellent package deal if they do decide to play together at the next level.
