UGA’s ‘Dawg Night’ a huge success

The University of Georgia football program pulled in some of the top high school recruits from around the nation for their annual “Dawg Night” camp on Saturday, and judging by some of the photos that have found their way to the Twitterverse, the event was once again a rousing success.

Radi Nabulsi of UGASports.com posted photos that included a shot of Dawgs head coach Mark Richt talking with 5-star recruit Demerits Robertson and a workout shot of UGA’s number one commit for the Class of 2016, 5-star QB Jacob Eason. Nabulsi also added a pic of Ben Cleveland wearing a shirt that reads, “Committed to the G,” a takeoff on UGA’s “Commit to the G” rallying cry. Current UGA running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel were also on hand to help recruits with the 40-yard dash.

In a move that’s guaranteed to make exactly no one happy in Tuscaloosa, Shyheim Carter, a Bama commit, was spotted sporting a Dawgs t-shirt at the event. Five-star linebacker Nate McBride was also spotted flying the Georgia colors.

Netori Johnson posted a photo collage that included shots of himself sporting some Georgia gloves and holding a UGA helmet while sending out a thank you to the Dawgs coaching staff, while youngster Giovanni Biggers has indeed gotten bigger, and he posted a side-by-side shot to let everyone see the difference from last year’s camp to now.

Georgia currently has 12 commitments for 2016, and 247Sports has them ranked as the nation’s no. 11 recruiting class. The Dawgs’ 2017 class has only two commits right now, but is still ranked number 10 in the country.
