Those hoping for Brock Lesnar to defeat WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Battleground got a rude awakening in, probably, the best way possible. Just when it looked like Lesnar would pin Rollins and win the title following an F5, the lights went out and the ominous gong was heard.
That’s right, wrestling fans. The Undertaker made his return and went full heel, settling the score with the man who broke his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania 30.
It was a Lesnar-centric match from start to finish, as Rollins was hit with German suplex after German suplex and only landed a few superkicks and a slap across Lesnar’s face as offense. He tried to run away, but Lesnar brought him right back to the ring.
But The Dead Man had other ideas. After kicking Lesnar below the belt, he landed one chokeslam and two Tombstone Piledrivers. Simply put, it seems that the score is settled.
Just what happens next for Rollins at Summerslam remains to be seen, but one thing is all but certain.
We’re probably getting a Lesnar-‘Taker rematch next month, kids. Buckle up.
