Dabo Swinney jokes about money’s involvement in recruiting

Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney said what?

During the ACC Kickoff in North Carolina on Tuesday morning, Swinney was discussing the new cost of attendance scholarships that universities are allowed to provide to their student-athletes.

The exact cost of the stipend can vary from school to school, but what Swinney was asked for his opinion his response — though tongue-in-cheek — raised a few eyebrows.

Swinney joked that this is the first time teams can “legally” use money in recruiting.

Dabo on cost of attendance: "it's the first time cash has been a part of the recruiting." Three seconds later…. "Legally."

Swinney is just saying what everyone was thinking.

It was a pretty entertaining comment that provided some excitement to the morning.
