4-star DT Jerron Cage commits to Ohio State

Class of 2017 defensive tackle Jerron Cage, out of Cincinnati’s Winton Woods High School, has committed to Ohio State. Cage made the announcement on his Instagram page.

Cage subsequently becomes the eighth member of Ohio State’s 2017 recruiting class and is ranked the No. 17 defensive tackle in his class by 247 Sports. Apart from Ohio State, he had received offers from Illinois, Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati.

He won’t graduate from Winton Woods for another two years but with great size for the position at 6-foot-2, 282 pounds, Cage definitely has what it takes to become a valuable contributor on the Buckeyes’ defensive line.

Ohio State opens the season on the road against Virginia Tech on September 7.
