Bryce Hargrove commits to Pitt

Class of 2016 defensive end Bryce Hargrove, out of Akron’s Coventry High School, has committed to Pitt. Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports reported Hargrove’s decision.

Hargrove had received offers from a number of schools including Harvard, Rutgers, Cornell, Yale, Cincinnati, Air Force and even Akron. Clearly, on top of having great size for his position at 6-foot-5, 255 pounds, he is also clearly very smart.

But Hargrove will instead join the Pitt Panthers, a team set to begin its first season under former Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi. Given Hargrove’s skillset, he should fit in just fine in Narduzzi’s system.

Pitt opens the season at home against the MVFC’s Youngstown State Penguins on September 5.
