Florida Gators wide receiver Alvin Bailey was arrested yesterday afternoon for failing to appear in court and is currently in the Hillsborough County Jail. Thomas Goldkamp of 247 Sports reported the arrest and being held on $5,000 bond.
Bailey was cited earlier this year for driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, and was due to appear in court in June. He failed to do so, and thus a warrant for his arrest was put out.
Given how Bailey has primarily been a special teams player in his two years in Gainesville, this is certainly not the kind of impression he wants to make. A former four-star recruit out of Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida, near Tampa, Bailey has posted no statistics since coming to school in 2013.
Campus Sports will update this story as it develops.
