Holgorsen has great tweet about resuming Backyard Brawl

The “Backyard Brawl” hasn’t taken place in three seasons, but that doesn’t mean the rivalry has diminished.

Pittsburgh and West Virginia fans are not fond of one another and apparently neither are the coaches. It all started with Mountaineers head coach Dana Holgorsen making the comment “we’re begging to play Pitt.”

Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi took his turn to respond on how he felt about the situation.

Narduzzi also snuck in the comment that West Virginia is not a concern to Pitt at this time. Ouch!

The chatter didn’t end there. Holgorsen got wind of Narduzzi’s comments and decided to take to Twitter to add more fuel to the fire.

There has been talk of this rivalry resuming, but we all know how difficult that can be to put together. With the landscape of college football changing the number of opportunities to play an out of conference team has become more and more difficult.

It’s too bad, because it’s always fun to see how many couches each fan base can burn on a Saturday afternoon.
