We’ve seen plenty of videos of basketball stars’ kids showing off their dance moves or wowing us with their wit during post game pressers.
Which is great, don’t get us wrong. But it is always a little extra special to hear when a star’s spawn dominating the competition–on the court for a change.
Carmelo Anthony’s eight-year-old son, Kiyan, is apparently quite the hoops star. TMZSports reports that mini Melo and his second grade youth basketball team, New York Gauchos, came up victorious at a national tournament over the weekend–a tournament for third graders.
Not only is Melo’s kid beating kids older than him, but so is the rest of his team? Now that’s impressive.
Gauchos director Maxwell Cole said of Kiyan:
“He knows the game. You can tell the influence his dad has on him. You know he comes from a basketball family.”
