1Class of 2016 four-star safety Chanse Sylvie, out of Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana, has committed to Oklahoma. Sylvie announced his decision on his personal Twitter page.

Sylvie had also received offers from a great number of schools including Baylor, Michigan, Miami, TCU, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Mississippi State, among others. He will instead join a Sooners squad that finished 51st in the nation in total defense last season and ranked 117th in defending the pass.
He won’t suit up for the team for another year, but Sylvie will definitely improve an Oklahoma defense that needs some fixing.
The Sooners open the season at home against Akron on September 5.
