LSU RB Leonard Fournette Thinking Heisman

The Heisman Trophy has been awarded to either a quarterback or running back in recent years, and LSU Tigers star rusher Leonard Fournette appears to have his sights set on winning the award. On his Instagram, Fournette posted a picture of himself in the pose of the iconic trophy.

Needless to say, Fournette should certainly be in the Heisman conversation. He made an immediate impact as a freshman last season, rushing for 1,031 yards on just 187 carries and 10 touchdowns. Currently, the odds of him winning are listed as 14-1, but an absolutely monster season could up his chances and potentially make him a finalist for the Heisman, if not the winner.

So long as he stays healthy and LSU plays strong football in the SEC West, per usual, there should be nothing stopping Fournette of achieving this goal.

LSU opens the season against McNeese State on September 5.
