Ohio State Buckeyes to wear black alternate vs. Penn State

The Ohio State Buckeyes are once again expected to be a main contender to appear in the National Championship game, and they are the favorites in quite a few people’s books. Urban Meyer has a lot of talent to work with, and it all starts with the three quarterbacks that are all capable of starting this season. That being said said, they can’t allow themselves to get to confident, and have to take things one week at a time.

According to a report from Ohio State fan Twitter account Eleven Warriors, the Buckeyes will be wearing a black alternate jersey when they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on October 17th.

No actual jersey picture has been released, but there has been a black T-Shirt jersey that has been shared around that is supposedly very close to what the jersey’s will look like.

Obviously this is going to be a very cool feature for the Buckeyes to add to their football program. They aren’t going quite as crazy as the Oregon Ducks have gone in recent history with a new jersey each and every week, but they are adding in some fun changes. It appears that these will be worn just one game this year, and it will be a night game that kicks off at 8 p.m. E.T.

It will be interesting to see what the actual jersey looks like when they release it to the public. The T-Shirts are a good idea of what they could look like, but they certainly aren’t exactly the same. Ohio State already has a rich football tradition, and adding on this type of changes and alternates to their uniform options will give them another tool to recruit prospects the same way that the Ducks do with their jersey’s.
