Report: Nine teams to wear black alternate jerseys in 2015

A few weeks ago, we brought you a story of a black Ohio State t-shirt popping up all over the country in Nike stores. Some fans speculated that the Buckeyes could be wearing the shirts as alternate jerseys this season.

Those speculations could be true as there are reports of the Buckeyes and other teams will be wearing these black alternate jerseys this season. The report comes from College Spun via Tidewater News’ Andrew Lind. He shared pictures of the alternate jerseys via Twitter.

When I first saw these jerseys, I found it hard to believe that teams would actually be wearing these. They still look like t-shirts that fans would be able to purchase, but not something teams would actually wear on the field.

I love the black alternate jersey idea, but I know that Nike has done better in the past. This doesn’t look like something Nike would actually want on the field representing their brand.

But what do I know? Maybe fans will fall in love with these jerseys. But I know some Alabama and Texas fans and they’re purists. They don’t accept change very well. I guess we will find out when the season kicks off in a month.
