Kyle Murphy is latest Stanford OT with ‘bright NFL futures’

The Stanford Cardinal have had a long line of offensive lineman moving on from the program to find success at the next level. This year, it appears that offensive tackle Kyle Murphy is the latest Stanford standout poised for NFL success.

CBS Sports’ Rob Rang wrote that the 6-foot-7, 298-pounder is  “simply the latest in a long line of Stanford offensive linemen with bright NFL futures.”

Along with his prototypical size, Rang raves about Murphy as a “drive blocker, showing surprising flexibility to get under the pads of opponents and impressive leg drive to consistently move the pile.”

Last season, Murphy received 2014 Second Team All-Pac-12 honors.

Add in the fact that the tackle has plenty of film for NFL scouts to analyze — he has played in 40 games throughout his college career.

With all of the film, it will be interesting to see just how high Murphy will be drafted. If he is able to live up to what he has shown so far, Rang’s analysis could be correct.
