Vols 5-star freshman Kahlil McKenzie is HUGE

Tennessee Volunteers freshman defensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie is a lot of things: five-star prospect, former star at Clayton Valley Charter High School, near San Francisco, and plain old massive individual.

Yes, McKenzie is a big man, standing 6-foot-3, 327 pounds and set to be part of the Vols’ defensive line this season. To give a better idea of how big this young man is, here’s a picture, courtesy of Patrick Brown of the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Now we know a couple more things about McKenzie. First, he never skips leg day. On top of that, his build is surely going to make opposing offensive linemen start praying not to get hurt before the ball is even snapped.

With Tennessee needing help defending the run and general improvement on defense overall, despite ranking 32nd in the nation in total defense last year, look for McKenzie to make an immediate impact and help the Vols make some noise in the SEC this season.

Tennessee opens the season at home against Bowling Green on September 5.
