Former San Francisco 49ers defensive end Aldon Smith has had a bad string of run-ins with the law over the last year or so. The straw that broke the camel’s back was his third arrest for DUI charges in just over year early Friday morning. Smith was released by the 49ers following that arrest.
It seems like his Friday morning arrest may not have been the only thing that caused his release. TMZ reported that Smith got into an altercation with quarterback Colin Kaepernick earlier this week.
There have been rumors floating around the internet that Kaepernick recently began dating Hot 97 radio host Nessa. The problem with that is that Nessa is Smith’s former girlfriend.
If that is true, Kaepernick broke the ultimate bro code. Either way, it was not clear what the fight was about, but you could assume that this situation came to a boil over Nessa.
TMZ said that it was not clear whether or not the two exchanged words before the fight or if Nessa’s name ever came up. Maybe it was for the best that Smith was released, but I sincerely hope that he gets the help he desperately needs.
