A name synonymous with Spanish soccer, GQ covers and undergarments, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world’s most desirable men. Most women want him and most men want to be him. And while it’s the most sincere form of flattery, imitation superceded Shanta, a Denmark native, who continues to pluck thousands of dollar from his bank account to mirror Portugal’s gem.
Justin Beiber experienced a familiar situation when 33-year-old Toby Shelton invested in $100,000 in cosmetic surgery to mimic Bieber’s look.
In the case of Shanta’s love affair and aspiration to resemble Cristiano Ronaldo, the 17-year-old confirmed he regularly updates his wardrobe to coordinate with CR7’s and also took the transformation to legal matters by acquiring the Ronaldo surname.
Even Shanta Ronaldo’s Twitter feed pays refuge in countless snapshots of the soccer star, who recently stormed off in an interview about the allegations against FIFA and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
But since Cristiano Ronaldo’s relocation to La Liga in 2009, Shanta has followed his headlines and fashion line in blind ambition, accompanied by his milk chocolate brown/caramel-printed Louis Vuitton satchel.
“He used his time very good for me where we spoke a lot. I wait every day at Valdebebas [Real Madrid’s training ground] from 9 AM to 2 PM just to see him. Now, he knows me it means every time I go to Madrid I can meet him, which I am so proud of. Wherever, CR7 goes I’m with him. He even knows it himself. I try to visit him as soon as possible. I’m already planning my next trip which is very soon.”
In defiance against those in- and outside of his social circle, who disapprove of the renovation, Shanta’s composure remains intact, iterating to The Mirror that “…I cannot be myself more than I am now.”
