NDSU suspends freshman punter indefinitely after arrest

North Dakota State University freshman punter Ian Gallagher has been suspended from the football team indefinitely following his arrest for “unlawful entry into a vehicle,” Bison head coach Chris Klieman told The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead.

Gallagher was arrested by Fargo police early yesterday morning after he was seen walking down 11th Street North trying out car door handles before finding an open one and getting in the car. He was not practicing with the team but was expected to join it once classes started on the 24th of this month.

Until this situation is cleared up, however, it seems doubtful that he will be allowed to be a part of the Bison.

This story is still very much in the early stages, but Campus Sports will update it as more information becomes available.

North Dakota State opens the season on the road against the Big Sky’s Montana Grizzlies on August 29.
