The Virginia Tech Hokies are set to open up their 2015 season against the defending college football champion Ohio State Buckeyes on Septembery 7th. They aren’t considered to be a legitimate contender for a championship this season, but they are expected to make some big improvements and work their way into a sizable bowl game after finishing last year at 7-6.
Michael Vick stopped by his alma mater, and delivered a short speech to the 2015 Hokies football team. Take a listen for yourself, and hear what Vick had to say.
Obviously Vick didn’t have a ton to say to the Hokies, but he did stress a few very important points. He mentioned that having team and individual goals was important for each and every player, and that staying alert and aggressive in the classroom was just as important as the game of football. Vick has learned from quite a few poor decisions that he has made throughout his life, and he likely wishes he could go back to his college days and do things over.
That being said, he made some very good points to the student-athletes and some of the points that he made are going to be very valuable for players to follow.
Simply having Vick back at Virginia Tech is a special occasion for the school and team, and a lot of these players look up to him in a big way. While he didn’t make too many huge points, the small things that he said could end up being more important than he knows in the future.
