3-star PG re-commits to LSU

Class of 2016 point guard Skylar Mays, out of Nevada’s Findlay College Prep, near Las Vegas, has re-committed to LSU. Mays announced his decision on his Instagram.

Mays originally committed to the Tigers back in February 2014, but opted to reopen his recruitment just a few months later. On top of LSU, which just happens to be in his hometown of Baton Rouge, he had received offers from Tulane, SMU, UNLV, Oregon, Mississippi State and Tulsa.

Rivals lists Mays as 122nd in the entire 2016 recruiting class and though he is a bit skinny at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, he is an excellent passer and thrives in pick-and-roll situations. Once he can put on some muscle and become a stronger, more explosive player, not to mention improve his long-range shooting, he could become one of the more dynamic point men in college basketball.
