After rumors swirled that wide receiver Marquez North could be out for the season, Tennessee fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as he is now expected back in no more than a week.
Per Dustin Dopriak of the Knoxville News-Sentinel, Vols head coach Butch Jones confirmed the news via text message.
This is great news for the team, as North has great size at 6-foot-4, 224 pounds and has lived up to the hype after arriving on campus as a four-star recruit from Charlotte, North Carolina two seasons ago.
In his time with the team, he has caught 68 passes for 816 yards and five touchdowns. Combined with returning receivers Pig Howard and Von Pearson, North should be all set to continue being a top contributor in Tennessee’s passing game.
Tennessee opens the season against the MAC’s Bowling Green Falcons on September 5.
