Syracuse, Wisconsin agree to home-and-home

It was announced Thursday that Syracuse and Wisconsin’s respective football programs would host a home-and-home starting in 2020. John Taylor of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk reported the development.

On September 12, 2020, Syracuse will take a trip to Madison, with the Badgers taking their first-ever trip to the Carrier Dome on September 11 of the following year.

Syracuse AD Mark Coyle offered a brief statement on the agreement between the universities.

“I’m excited for our football program, our student-athletes and our fans to announce this series,” Syracuse athletic director Mark Coyle said in a statement. “To add another chapter to the history between these teams and bring a program like Wisconsin to the Carrier Dome is important as we strive to give our student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest level.”

The teams first played each other in 1941, but have yet to face off since playing at the old Giants Stadium back in 1997. Syracuse leads the all-time series 3-1-1.
