The Tennessee Volutneers are very proud when it comes to their traditions. One of those traditions is the iconic checkerboard endzones which have now led to the checkerboard pattern making its way to the team’s uniforms.
This year, the fans at Neyland could once again be using that pattern to create an impressive tifo design around the stadium.
According to a tipster on reddit, the Vols will be “checkering Neyland” whenever the Oklahoma Sooners come to town on September 12. If you haven’t seen what it looks like before, it is quite the site to see.
Tennessee opens the season on Sept. 5 in Nashville against the Bowling Green Falcons.
