Local liquor store jumps in on Buckeyes QB race

A local Columbus liquor store has gotten itself involved in the debate over whether J.T. Barrett or Cardale Jones will be the Ohio State Buckeyes’ starting quarterback for the upcoming season. A picture of the sign outside Palmer’s Beverage Center was posted by a local fan on Twitter.

It just goes to show that as Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer considers who to name the starter for the team’s season opener against Virginia Tech on September 7, the public is stirring the debate pot to no end. Should Meyer roll with the small and scrappy Barrett, who was having an excellent year as the starter last season before breaking his ankle at regular season’s end, or with the human tank in Jones who has a similar skillset but is bigger and led the team to victory in the College Football Playoff and national championship game?

It goes without saying that the local community getting involved in this manner isn’t helping Meyer at all, but the start of the regular season is drawing closer and a decision should be made soon. Of course, Campus Sports will update the Buckeyes’ starting quarterback battle as any new information becomes available.
