Those hoping to score last minute tickets for the Montana Grizzlies’ home opener against the North Dakota State Bison on August 29 could be in for a rude awakening as, at least on Stubhub, tickets are going for a minimum $155.
I’ll cut right to the chase and say that whoever has been setting these prices on Stubhub, a site where fans buy tickets from others who aren’t able to make the game for whatever reason, has been in the sun too long. Yes, it is college football opening weekend, but it should also be noted that this is an FCS game.
Granted, the Bison are the defending FCS champions, so it does make some sense that tickets are on the pricier side, but that really isn’t a reason to jack up prices if one is trying to sell tickets that one can’t even use. All “perks” of the game aside, a ticket to the first game of an FCS season should not be priced out for more than $100. It’s not as though Montana is playing Alabama, or even Oklahoma.
Hopefully, some fans come to their senses before the big day.
