Stanford WR Michael Rector suspended indefinitely

Stanford may have just lost one of their top players for the 2015 season. The team’s passing offense has been a question mark for some time now, but we now know that the team will be without a top receiver for an unspecified amount of time.

According to College Football Talk, head coach David Shaw announced that wide receiver Michael Rector has been suspended indefinitely. While no reason for the suspension has surfaced, Shaw described his decision being for “disciplinary reasons.”

Rector has been a leader for the receiving group in his time with the Cardinal. He caught passes for 324 yards in 2014 and as a senior, he was expected to start for the team.

The suspension is indefinite, so he could be back as early as next week, or he could miss significant time this season.

The Cardinal open the season on September 5 when the team travels to Evanston to play Northwestern.
