Alabama apologizes for sorority video with Kenyan Drake

The University of Alabama has apologized for a video one of the school’s sororities posted which featured star running back Kenyan Drake. Fox Sports’ Clay Travis reported Alabama’s response to the video, which was as follows:

“This video is not reflective of UA’s expectations for student organizations to be responsible digital citizens. It is important for student organizations to remember what is posted on social media makes a difference, today and tomorrow, on how they are viewed and perceived,” said Deborah Lane, Associate Vice President for University Relations.

The video, which has drawn criticism due to the overwhelming amount of beautiful young women in it and how most are of the bleached-blonde variety, featured Drake when the sorority took a trip to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Still, just why an apology is necessary is a bit of a mystery.

Yes, a majority of the sorority members do appear to be blonde women, with a few brunettes mixed in, but that is little reason to shame them. Moreover, so what if Drake was in the video?

Either way, this can hopefully be put behind everybody involved and Drake can resume preparing for Alabama’s season opener against Wisconsin in Dallas on September 5.
