Detroit Lions star quarterback Matthew Stafford sits down with Dave Osokow for the latest episode of Campus Sports’ online series, “Time Out.” During the sitdown at his Georgia home, Stafford opened up about a number of topics that have helped to shape him throughout his career.
Stafford talked about what it was like to play under the Friday night lights during his high school days in Texas, his time at the University of Georgia and finally the transition to the NFL.
Along the way, Stafford also met his beautiful wife, Kelly, and shared the great story of how they met and ultimately got engaged. Believe it or not, the star quarterback admits that he was more nervous to pop the question than he was taking his first snap in the NFL. (More on that here)
“Football is something I’ve done my whole life. Expressing how I feel, well, I’m not too good at that. None of us are,” Stafford said. “But, no, that was a cool moment. Both of them, really.”
