USA TODAY ethers Florida State fan base with beautiful troll

If you are a fan of the Florida State Seminoles, today is probably a good day to step away from the computer. First and foremost, former Seminoles players are dropping like flies during the preseason and two big name players suffered injuries as recently as Wednesday.

Tough day to be a Nole…

If that wasn’t enough to get you upset, USA TODAY published a list of their 10 most overrated fan bases in college football and the Florida State faithful came in at No. 1. For those that know anything about “FSU Twitter,” this could turn out to be a very interesting day on social media — especially for the author of the piece, Chris Chase, who probably has his finger already on the block button.

Chase took the opportunity to ether the Florida State fan base with some strong words that anyone who appreciates a good Internet troll will enjoy.

“I’m not going to even touch on your former quarterback whose name rhymed with ‘shame us.’ Instead we’ll focus on the appalling, annoying and out-of-date Tomahawk Chop, which is probably the worst thing in all of sports,” he wrote. “Why do people care about the Washington Redskins name but not the Tomahawk Chop? Probably because they know FSU will be back to being mediocre in a few years and it’s not worth the trouble.”

That one really hits where it hurts.

We haven’t seen too much of the aftermatch on social media, but we would advise getting your popcorn ready for when class lets out and the Seminoles fans run to their keyboards to express their dissatisfaction with the article and begin attacking the author in 140 characters or less.
