UC player calls Maurice Clarett ‘best speaker’ he’s heard

Maurice Clarett has been making his way from school to school this offseason, speaking out on life and behaving well on and off the football field. It is a growing issue in today’s world of sports, and Clarett is doing everything he can to help young players redirect from going down the same path that he went down as a young superstar with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

On Thursday night, Clarett was given the opportunity to speak to the Cincinnati Bearcats’ football team. He may not reach everyone in an individual room, but one player in particular was touched by his “speech” on Thursday night.

Kevin Brown, a senior linebacker for the Bearcats, took to Twitter to say that Clarett was the best speaker that he had heard in his four college years at Cincinnati.

Those comments are what makes Clarett’s mission to travel to different school’s to share his story something special. Reaching even one player on a team makes his time worthwhile.

Clarett was on the fast track to become an NFL star during his career at Ohio State, but he ended up facing a long-term sentence in prison. He has been able to use his real life experience to help kids, which forces them to have respect for the history that he has on the topic.

Clarett will continue doing this kind of work to help out the younger generations over the next few years. Motivational speaking seems to be something that he is good at doing, which could be exactly what he was meant to do.

Expect to see his work continue having an impact on players lives and to get plenty more comments like the one that Brown posted on social media.
