Report: Justin Scott-Wesley tells ex-coach he’s ‘done playing’

Over the weekend, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt commented on the status of wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley. Richt was pessimistic about the pass catcher’s return and now we may no why.

According to a report from the Athens Banner-Herald, Scott-Wesley has informed his high school coach, Dondrial Pinkins of Mitchell County High School, that he is “done playing.”

Scott-Wesley hinted that his playing career was over on Monday night when he took to Instagram and wrote, “When one door closes, another opens! That’s how God works! Blessed for the opportunity to learn and teach!”

Scott-Wesley was a fifth-year senior who has been plagued by injuries throughout his playing career.

Whether he is able to turn coaching into a new career remains to be seen, but it certainly looks like he is getting his start early. Best of luck to Scott-Wesley in the next chapter of his life.
