Georgia QB race down to two players?

What was once a three-man race for the Georgia Bulldogs starting quarterback’s job now may be down to just two. Per Seth Emerson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the top two spots on the depth chart have often switched between Virginia transfer Greyson Lambert and sophomore Brice Ramsey, while junior Faton Bauta has consistently been the third-stringer.

Despite this new development, coach Mark Richt has not commented on which man is in the lead. Despite the circumstances, even Bauta could still be in the race.

But it should also be noted that the Bulldogs’ final scrimmage is Thursday and with the September 5 season opener against Louisiana-Monroe drawing closer and closer, there is still no frontrunner for the coveted position. Emerson even speculated that all three men could see time under center in that game.

The trio’s teammates have not offered any hints either, probably on orders from Richt.

“All three of them are really talented, and they know the system really well, so I think whoever they put back there will be good for the offense and for the team,” junior receiver Reggie Davis said.

Though Richt appears hell bent on playing his decision-making process close to the vest, Campus Sports will update this story as any new developments become public.
