LSU Tigers defensive back Jalen Mills’ leg injury is worse than initially feared as the senior has undergone surgery and is not expected to return for at least six weeks. Ross Dellenger of The Advocate reported the update on Mills’ status.
It was originally thought that Mills would only miss two games, but it is now clear that he will miss much more than that despite coach Les Miles harboring personal hope that Mills can come back sooner.
A former star at Texas’ DeSoto High School, near Dallas, Mills has been a starter at LSU since arriving there in 2012 and has 186 tackles, six interceptions and even three sacks over that stretch. Needless to say, his injury is a tremendous loss to LSU’s secondary.
Hopefully, Mills can recover quickly and get back on the field to help the Tigers continue to be an SEC staple.
