Report: LSU’s Cam Cameron diagnosed with prostate cancer

According to a report from The Advocate, LSU Tigers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Cameron has reportedly already began receiving treatment.

Despite the diagnosis, LSU expects Cameron to remain the offensive coordinator and to coach the team in 2015. Cameron enters the year in the final year of his contract. He has spent the previous three seasons with the team.

Cameron is also the team’s quarterback’s coach. Currently, true freshman Brandon Harris leads sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings for the starting job.

Campus Sports wishes Cameron a full and speedy recovery.

LSU opens the season on Sept. 5 against McNeese State.
