Tennessee loses WR to suspension, DB to injury

Bad news kept coming from left and right in Knoxville, Tennessee this Thursday as one of their offensive weapons receives a suspension.

This day brought a one-game suspension for Pig Howard as well as LaDarrell McNeil, who is sidelined indefinitely for “neck instability”. Head coach Butch Jones said that their safety could miss an undesirable amount of time this season for this medical issue.

Jones said, “LaDarrell McNeil, this one came out of nowhere,” and added that it is, “Very, very unfortunate. I feel for him. He’s had some neck instability there, so he’s undergoing further examination. But he will out an extended period of time, and it could be a lengthy period of time.”

Wes Rucker, from 247Sports.com, reports “Jones said McNeil’s ‘life after football’ was going to be the program’s priority.”

The future for the defensive back remains uncertain but he will be missed because in the last three seasons, he played in 36 games and started in 31.
