On Saturday, Central Miami (No. 2 on MaxPreps) ended up losing its season opener to DeMatha (No. 14), 38-14, at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Lined up at the 45-yard line, DeMatha QB Beau English received the snapped ball and targeted Maryland Terrapins commit Darryl Turner. While hauling in the long ball, the hip of a Central Miami defender landed on Turner’s right ankle, causing it to bend perpendicularly to his body.

With Turner likely out for the season, English will have to rely on his other weapons that include running back Lorenzo Harrison, who racked up over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns, and wide receivers Anthony MacFarland and Tino Ellis.
DeMatha, a member of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, has been the reigning state champion in the last two years and are led by head coach Elijah Brooks.
