Video: Spartans fall to Italian National Team

Tom Izzo didn’t schedule his team’s summer exhibition games with ease and comfort in mind. Instead he loaded the schedule with three national team opponents: Russia, Italy and Georgia.

These National teams are preparing for the Eurobasket tournament next month, which will determine which teams will play in next summer’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to College Basketball Talk, on Saturday, the Spartans played the Italian national team and pulled within five points in the fourth quarter before eventually falling 90-69. However, Izzo was pleased overall stating, “For 35 minutes, that was a pretty good game. I thought we did a lot of better things.”

MSU will play Georgia’s national team Sunday in their final game of the trip.
