With a slew of depth charts being finalized and training camps nearing an end, the defending national champions, Ohio State, released its first-stringers for their season opener against Frank Beamer’s Virginia Tech Hokies.
Both Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett will receive their snaps from senior center Jacoby Boren, who weighs in at 285 pounds, but what could be the demise of the Buckeyes offense is what stands on the wings at wide receiver.
Standing on the outskirts of the Jones/Barrett tandem will be a pair of sub-6-foot-tall receivers (James Clark and Johnnie Dixon), one of whom composes another pair of caveats on offense with inexperience with two freshman in Dixon and Terry McLaurin.
