Joey Julius is college football’s new favorite big man

College football has a new “man crush.” And we are fully on board.

Enter Joey Julius: nickname Big Toe. He’s a freshman kicker at Penn State, standing in at 5-foot-10 and breaking the scale at 259 pounds.

Oh, and he can split the uprights. From 34 yards away. Like a pro.

If you weren’t all about the bass, you are now.

But the real kicker–see what I did there?–is that Julius was an upper echelon soccer player who backed out of a collegiate soccer commitment to be a walk-on for the Nittany Lions. Crossing sports isn’t a new phenomenon, but the fact that big man Julius was a high-grade soccer forward is something else entirely. Frankly, it makes his athletic prowess even more

Social media blew up Saturday with highlights of Julius’s first collegiate field goal. If he keeps making field goals, he could well be on his way to Shawn Oakman status.
