The Ohio State Buckeyes have another vocal critic of their seemingly easy schedule, this time in the form of Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema. On an SEC conference call that took place today, Bielema completely blasted the team’s schedule in any way possible.
Of course, Bielema’s remarks were reported on Twitter by multiple sources.
Bret Bielema throwing shade at Ohio St's sched, opening salvo at selection comm: SEC is "whole other level in terms of competitive balance"

Bielema: "Ohio State has one game remaining with a ranked opponent. We have eight remaining against teams that are ranked."

Bielema said if "If anyone tries to argue that, it’s nonsense.” Hinted that SEC teams would blow Ohio State's SOS out of the water

It’s hard to argue with Bielema, who coached Ohio State’s Big Ten rival Wisconsin for seven years and went 1-5 in matchups against the Buckeyes. His Arkansas team has 11 games remaining, eight of which are against currently ranked opponents.
Ohio State, on the other hand, has only one opponent on its schedule that is currently ranked: No. 5 Michigan State, and the teams don’t play each other until November 21.
But it is also important to note that there isn’t much Ohio State can do about its schedule, as it was probably set in stone years ago. Moreover, the Big Ten has never been as competitive as the SEC, so Bielema’s remarks are a bit off.
Just the same, no matter how you look at it, Ohio State’s path to getting back in the College Football Playoff and perhaps to the championship game isn’t exactly bumpy.
